Lesson Learned

If you're wont, like me, to put your morning pills in your pocket as you're getting dressed, to be taken later, make sure you transfer the pills to the new pocket when you change your slacks for a different pair. Otherwise, you'll find yourself at work in one pair of slacks, with your pills at home in the pocket of a different pair.

Baking

We're having a meet and greet Friday afternoon for our two new library faculty. I said I would take pizzelles. Of course, I've only made them a couple of times, so I went home last night and did a test run. I made these chocolate pizzelles, and they're pretty tasty. I tried rolling some into cones, some into tubes, and molding some into ice cream bowls. None of the molding was too successful. I took most of the pieces to seminary this morning, and the students scarfed them down.

So, I think I'll just take a few different flavors of flat cookies on Friday and call it good. I'm mulling over different recipes I found here.



PS - If you know the current incarnation of Betty Crocker's Cookie Book, I'm also thinking about Key Lime Coolers. Are my coworkers are worth it? Those are pretty special cookies, you know.

Yes, my records show that I read 46 books in the past 12 months. No great record, but it is what it is. I suspect I won't be able to top it this year, but we'll see.

The Last Shall Be First

At this point in life, I'm quite resigned to the fact that having a name that starts in the latter part of the alphabet means I'm often near the bottom of any list.

But today, being last paid off. The sixth digit in my SSN is a pretty high number, and because of that I got my tax rebate today. Granted, the money is really just passing through my account on the way to the credit card company, but at least it will be mine for a few days.

All in a Day's Work

It took me far longer than it would take many people, but I managed to shoot and upload some photos of the art installation today, both to my Flickr account and to the library's account (the two sets are nearly identical).

Learning to make a mosaic will have to wait until another day.
