Safety Advice, or, Auntie K Meets with the Asphalt

If at the end of a long day, you're walking out of the pizza place with your order, make sure the box doesn't obstruct your view of your feet. Otherwise, you may be in for a nasty tumble.

(Auntie K is fine, but it may be a few days before she can fully bend her left knee.)

What If

I pay tithing to the church, and I'm happy to do it. I just realized, however, how much money is actually involved. For me, it's the equivalent of a decent car payment or a new piece of nice furniture every month.

I'm not going to try it, but it would be interesting to go a year without paying tithing and see what I have to show for it in the end.

Several things went wrong, but the final blow was that the candy refused to come out of the pan. So, the pan of candy is now soaking in hot water and I'm waiting for my pound of REAL anise candy to arrive in the mail.

Looks Can Be Deceiving, Or, Sweet Sunday II

Despite its pedestrian, unassuming appearance, the candy was delicious. I think the salt didn't completely dissolve, so some bites contained that sublime juxtaposition of a grain of salt against the candy's sweetness.
