Food Safety
Even my mother, scorner of many expiration dates, would discard the egg burrito that's been sitting in my office, unrefrigerated, since Saturday, wouldn't she? Either way, the accompanying mint is safe for consumption, thank goodness.

You read your mother correctly: even she has respect for salmonella. One time she had the courage to throw out a whole plate of delicious devilled eggs that had sat outside all afternoon on a hot July Fourth, though there were a few tears shed. M.

So sad about the eggs, M. A few days later, I found a container of yogurt that had been with the burrito. Needless to say, it got pitched as well.
